Lately I’ve been “camped out” in Ephesians 1, preparing for an upcoming talk at a women’s prison. I simply can’t get enough of the rich truth spilling out with every written word!
The idea of God’s lavish grace is consuming me!
Ephesians 1:7-8 “In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us.”
Reworded you could say it like this: He lavishes us with grace!
The word lavish means very generous or liberal in giving or spending, often extravagantly so; more than enough, very abundant; PRODIGAL.
The word prodigal means exceedingly or recklessly abundant; a person who wastes his means; A SPENDTHRIFT!!
God is a spendthrift! No matter what you do, no matter how many times you turn away from Him, He showers you with grace; spending like a crazed lover with no limits to how far He will for YOU!
What do you need today? God stands ready to give it, and not meagerly either…lavishly, recklessly, abundantly!!
Today, go in grace, my friend, to love and serve the Lord.
